  88.           organization   Name of the organization, for ›4minews›24m's use  in

  93.           postdefltgroup Default  newsgroup  (if  any;  default  is to

  96.           replyusepath   This  file  should  exist  if and only if the
  97.                          local ``mail'' command is  unable  to  handle
  98.                          `@'  addresses,  meaning that replies to con­
  99.                          trol messages (etc.) must use  the  ``Path:''
  100.                          line  instead of ``From:''.  The contents are
  101.                          ignored.
  102.           server         Host name of the news server, where all oper­
  103.                          ations  (posting,  etc.)  should be done.  If
  104.                          file does not exist, current host is assumed.
  105.           setnewsids     Set­uid­root  program  to  get user and group
  106.                          ids correct for ›4mrelaynews›24m.   Needed  only  if
  107.                          the  system  is  old  enough  to refuse to do
  108.                          ›4msetuid(geteuid())›24m.    Included   in   NEWSCTL
  109.                          rather than NEWSBIN because its presence is a
  110.                          significant policy issue for the  administra­
  111.                          tor, i.e. it is, sort of, a control file.
  112.           sys            Major control file specifying what groups are
  113.                          legitimate here, and what groups are  fed  to
  114.                          other sites.
  115.           watchtime      Last time ›4mnewswatch›24m was run.
  116.           whoami         Name  of  the  system  for news purposes, for
  117.                          ›4mnewshostname›24m.  If file does not exist,  other
  118.                          sources (›4mhostname›24m etc.) are consulted.
